TELEHEALTH

TELEHEALTH | SPEECH THERAPY FOR BUSY FAMILIES - OR WHEN YOU CAN’T LEAVE THE HOUSE!

Telehealth (also called Telepractice, Telespeech, teleSLP) is clinical services delivered via videoconference (such as Zoom).

Who is Telehealth for?

Telehealth can be an effective platform for parent training/education, such as for parents of young children with language delays. We find Telehealth works well with primary school and high school aged children, working on developing their language, literacy or social skills.

Many parents worry that their children will have difficulty engaging in an online session, but the technology allows us to incorporate games, draw pictures and interact on screen. It’s lots of fun!

If you are not sure if Telehealth will work for your child or young person, give us a call and we can help determine the best service delivery for your child.

What Do I Need?

All you need is a computer or device with a camera, microphone and internet connection, we’ll send you a link and you’re ready to go.

Still Unsure?

We offer FREE 15-minute telehealth consultations so you and your child can meet your Clinician, have all your questions answered and your child can play a quick game with the clinician.

WHY CHOOSE TELEHEALTH?

  • It’s Convenient

You can do telehealth from home, which reduces travel time and makes it easier to manage siblings. Having sessions in your home environment means you and your child can be comfortable and have everything you need close by.

Your child can do Telehealth sessions from school, this works particularly well for upper primary and high-school students. We find most schools are supportive of this and will assist in getting students set up if needed.

  • It's Effective

Research shows us that quality Speech Pathology intervention over telehealth is just as effective as in-person services.

Your child’s needs will be evaluated and discussed with you, so that we can set individualised and family-centred goals. We will review your child’s goals and progress with you regularly to ensure intervention remains effective.
